Description
Mānawatia a Matariki — Celebrating the Māori New Year! Matariki, the Māori name for the Pleiades star cluster, marks the start of the Māori New Year when it rises in June/July. To commemorate this special occasion, Pinot and Picasso proudly present our 'Neon Nights: Matariki' artwork. Join us in paying tribute to this cherished tradition by painting New Zealand's radiant winter sky above Mount Cook/Aoraki, guiding a boat through rolling waves. Each sail symbolises one of the three core themes of Matariki: 1. Remembrance: Honouring those we have lost since the last rising of Matariki. 2. Celebration of the present: Gathering together to express gratitude for what we have. 3. Looking to the future: Embracing the promises of a new year. Kia ora e te whānau me e hoa mā to join us in celebration, as we honour and create our very own masterpieces. Let's come together to appreciate the present, reflect on the past, and plan for the future that lies ahead! The fun continues after dark with our Neon Nights paint and sip experience, where your creation glows under UV lights. It’s light off, party on.
